Moonlight

The curtain draws into the last scene. Silence is all that abounds. A maiden walks and basks in the silver moonlight. Alone, without thought and without remorse. Motionless and lifeless, she only sheds tears as the Moon bids her good night with a dazzling display of rays. Unable to see but only hear and feel the aura of the Moon, she stands there alone. Closed off to the world in her own memory. She leaps into her own world. Strong but not realizing it, she wishes that she could have been more. And so is true of those around her. Those cursed by those sublime eyes, that enduring yet malevolent voice, and that witty charm of a fox.

In the end, she is alone as the Moon fades into the dark sky. Rain pours down and her lifeless body is left with a seal that of deceit created not by those around her but only by her own mask of pretentiousness. How sad that she travels down a road of fate not made by her but by forces of other importance.

Yet, she's there alone, glimpsing and hoping that the moon bring a ray of hope. How long must she stare at that Moon and realize that the only way to redeem herself is to let go of that yoke?
